What's with white dudes and their love for Sade? Talk about batting from left field! Perhaps, it has something to do with her being the hot female equivalent to Morrissey? but less gay...kinda. With all the raving about Britney Spears' new album "Circus", I thought i'd be a sport and give it a chance. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for catchy pop music that is usually so bad it's good BUT this was just bad! It wasn't anything "new", just the same over produced, nasally, baby talking that she always does. Perhaps this stuff makes great "gym music" ? but that's about it. I really couldn't imagine listening to this in my every day life, ever.

Her ~~publicity stunt~~ heartfelt documentary special on MTV was amusing. I couldn't help but think, "You actually destroyed your career over some cheesy wig like K-fed?" I'm still going to stick with believing it was a karmatic bitch slap. Don't think we forgot about how you stole Shar Jackson's man. Every hood hoe knows, if you start dating a dude that leaves his 7 months pregnant girlfriend for you, chances are... in the long run he will most certainly not be faithful to you, Britney Spears or not. K-Fed stuck it out because he was a bum. Who really wants to give up their all expense paid vacations? and endless nights of partying in Vegas, while some dumb rich broad foots the bill? Not me!

"The paparazzi won't let me live my life" YOU ARE A CELEBRITY! get over it. If you didn't want to be harassed or seen, you wouldn't go shopping on Robertson blvd. You're famous, that's why you have assistants. Overall, just because she's not acting crazy and bloated MTV and the rest of the world are going to buy into this "comeback" and continue to gas her up. Wearing flannel shirts in cities that don't rain or snow for more than 10 months out of the year seems pretty pointless to me. It totally defeats the purpose of why you're even wearing the shirt to begin with. Upon moving to the Northwest, I have always been VERY apprehensive about wearing "fashion flannel". For me the two components just didn't make sense. Why on earth would I want to wear a flannel? they are not flattering to the figure, and naturally are associated with big sweaty loggers, construction workers, and well...plumbers.

Recently, Hipsters decided that flannel shirts were "in" thus the ironic 90's style "comeback". $50 for a flannel shirt with your logo on it? no thanks. I understand the grunge irony thing, it's kind of like the current Dr. Martin revival. It's just in my opinion flannel shirts shouldn't cost more than $10, ever.

On that note, I decided to buy a flannel from my local Goodwill ($1) how very "grunge" of me HA! Not only is it one of THE warmest articles of clothing that I own, but it all makes sense now. The Gods of Grunge have spoken and I am officially enlightened.

After moving from LA to Seattle I've been obsessing over interior design and home furnishings. I've decided that I really want a red lip sofa! I almost feel like every woman needs a giant lip sofa in her home. Sadly, if you live with someone of the opposite sex that isn't a raging homosexual, or a seedy pimp ..they probably won't be into it.

Speaking of amazingly tacky and girly homes, Jayne Mansfield's "Pink Palace" takes the cake! with a wall to wall pink shag carpeted bathroom, black silk bed, and giant heart shaped swimming pool, the Pink palace was obviously my dream home. A ~~little~~ big piece of heaven.

The show "That's So Raven" is just one big fashion no! I don't understand the reasoning behind Raven Simone's outfits (in real life as well as on the show). How do you go from being cute little "Olivia" from the Cosby's to this bedazzled denim suit wearing , chunky mom boots having , patent leather jacket mess? why?! you're so fucking rich, you could have access to an amazing wardrobe stylist! Why on earth do you choose to wear these hideously ill fitting shittastic outfits? WHY, Raven? WHY?!?!

Dress as if you might run into your worst enemy at all times.

Stop smoking cigarettes..wrinkles... hello!

Stop drinking beer.

Use sunscreen.

Invest in a good night moisturizer.

Get regular pedicures.

Stop shaving your legs and start using hair removal cream.
*Jackie O was a firm believer in not using razors on your legs. Eventually, it will give you "chicken skin".

Stop wearing chipped nail polish.

Floss your teeth.

Invest in supportive bras.

Stop sleeping in your boyfriends big t-shirts and boxers and buy yourself a cute nightgown or silk slip.

Never wear Ugg boots in public, unless it's snowing and even then they're still ugly but at least it would make sense.

Never wear your pajamas in public.

Obviously, this list could go on forever but I have found that these are some of the most common mistakes women (including my family and friends) can make. Taking the extra initiative to put on some mascara or lip gloss before running to Target or the grocery store can make a world of a difference. You never know who you might run into, and for them to see you looking busted and disgusted in your ugly boots, and veloure track suit is just a no no.

You can learn a lot about beauty from your grandmothers, ladies. Older women have some of the best"beauty secrets" if you ask me. Especially old ladies that still have that supple looking skin. I've asked a few old women what their "secrets" were and to my astonishment, most of them have been using the same old over the counter beauty creams since they were 18! and refuse to change. I'm not sure if genetics plays a big part in this, because I can't ever see myself using any product on my face that contains "Mineral oil" or "beeswax" but feel free to give these products a go. Perhaps down the line it will save you some $$$ on Botox?

Last night I had a bizarre dream that I went out on a date to an amusement park with a 17 year-old that strangely resembled James Franco. In the dream we ended up hooking up which would obviously never happen in reality (i'm 23) and well...it's not worth going to jail over, but a girl can dream can't she?

I feel like in some aspects it could actually be fun dating a younger guy( 18 and over, please). It would almost be like you're molding them into becoming a cooler older dude in the future. Surely, dating a younger guy means hanging out with his younger (stupid) friends. Yes, the same ones that you hated even when you were in highschool.

The downside to all of this (including his friends) is that younger guys, are well... pretty immature. They enjoy all of the things you liked 5 years ago, they probably don't own cars, and can't go out for a drink with you after work. On the other hand, their stamina must be pretty amazing and doing little things for them means a lot. A quality you don't find in jaded 20-somethings anymore. It's as if their "freshness" has long expired and they're no longer impressed by the things that once made their relationships fun and exciting. So just why are women seen as being "cougars" when their adult relationships come up short in the "fun" department, and overall lack the excitement they used to? Is it so much to want companionship from a person that can stil keep you on your toes?

On the flip side, I love much OLDER men. I'm talking late 50's and older. There is just something old and wise about them, kinda like an owl. Their charm, and charisma fascinates me. They have long surpassed their wishy washy "I don't know what I'm doing with my life" phase(unless they're having a mid-life crisis). They're usually looking for a "PYT" (pretty young thing) to keep them on their feet as well, to travel and enjoy life with. Their knowledge is vast and they still actually carry themselves like gentlemen. A quality which has long been lost after 1958. My point is, could you ever see yourself dating a person considerably younger or older than you?

Yesterday, I rented "The Devil and Daniel Johnston". A film that I had intended on seeing when it came out in theaters a while back, but sadly never got around to doing. If you don't know who Daniel Johnston is, you might remember his reindition of the song "Casper the friendly ghost" from the controversial film "KIDS". Daniel Johnston's life story is heartbreaking, hilarious and endearing. His documentary truely shows that there really is a very fine line between genius and insanity. His music calls for an acquired taste,and most certainly isn't for everyone. I've loved Daniel Johnston since the first time I heard his tape in the 9th grade at BENWAY record store in Venice Beach. Although the store is no longer there (Thanks, internet), I am forever grateful for my introduction to such a brilliant artist. Rent it this weekend, definitely a must see.

Most people (usually men) hate flea markets, to them it's nothing more than "junk". Some people just have an eye for things in these types of places, I being one of them. Not only will you find things that no one else has, but you'll find some of the greatest bargains. Where else can you find life sized Marie Osmond dolls? or that Lisa Frank sticker set mom wouldn't buy you in Elementary school?

Guys, you should step your game up and take notes on the effortless swagger that is "Joey Evans" (Frank Sinatra) in the film: "Pal, Joey". Although, I can't make any promises that it'll land you with a rich cougar; willing to foot the bill for your latest business endeavor. I can assure at the very least , you'll be walking away with some pretty funny phrases. Lines that might actually impress some woman at a bar, or a nursing home. I suppose Frankie Baby's charm isn't for everyone. Knowing most guys these days, they'd end up looking like Christian the "cake boy" from the movie Clueless anyway.

Long before hipsters got into the "ghetto nail" craze, there was a little line called "Hard Candy". I LOVED buying Hard Candy nail polish, mainly because it was one of my many fashion "statements". Their polishes were AMAZING! ranging from the girliest of pastel baby doll pink to the brightest silver polish called "Trailer Trash".

Although the cute little plastic rings that came with the bottle never fit on my chubby little sausage fingers, I adored them none the less. It amazes me how those little bottles now are considered "vintage".

There is nothing cooler than "cool" parents, and when I say "cool" I don't mean the shitty ones that buy you cheap beer and bug you and your friends for weed in 7th grade. COOKIE magazine has brought us The Nesting Blog Which gives normal starving artist parents like you and I, the chance to live vicariously through the really ~~filthy rich~~ successful artist and their families homes .Making the site that much more exciting, and depressing all at the same time. Fun!
